National Information

eProcurement is seen in the Austrian government as one possibility to reduce administrative costs and raise efficiency in the processes of its administration‘s institutions and those of its economic operators. The PEPPOL project provides the opportunity to participate in a multinational initiative that pursues precisely these objectives and lays the groundwork for efficiency gains in the future. PEPPOL.AT is focussing on the following eProcurement processes/components within PEPPOL:

  1. Virtual Company Dossier (VCD): PEPPOL.AT has set up a VCD system in Austria to support economic operators to create VCDs as a new and efficient method of proving suitability criteria in tendering procedures. PEPPOL.AT also plays a major role in the specification and implementation tasks concerning the VCD. Furthermore PEPPOL.AT is operating the central EVS (European VCD System) service.
  2. eCatalogue: PEPPOL.AT is using electronic catalogues (templates) as part of tendering procedures (pre-Award-catalogue) as well as during the ordering process with awarded economic operators (post-Award-catalogue). PEPPOL.AT has played a major role in the specification and implementation tasks concerning eCatalogues.
  3. eOrdering: PEPPOL.AT has connected the BBG-eShop (the primary eOrdering solution for contracting authorities at the Federal level) to the PEPPOL infrastructure. PEPPOL.AT has played a major role in the specification and implementation tasks in concerning eOrdering and has had the WP (Work Package) lead throughout the first three years of the project.
  4. eInvoicing: PEPPOL.AT has connected ER>B (the primary eInvoicing solution for contracting authorities at the Federal level) to the PEPPOL infrastructure. PEPPOL.AT has played a major role in the specification and implementation tasks concerning eInvoicing.
  5. Dissemination: PEPPOL.AT is responsible for the management of PEPPOL WP7 and therefore for all issues concerning marketing, dissemination and events.
  6. Infrastructure: PEPPOL.AT has set-up an Access Point and an SMP in order to connect solutions to the PEPPOL infrastructure and has played a major role in developing the respective infrastructure components in PEPPOL WP8. Furthermore PEPPOL.AT is operating the central SML service.
